How it works

You can meet people anywhere. That was never the hard part.

The hard part is meeting people you actually want to see again. Most apps optimize for volume, then leave the two of you to work out whether there was ever anything there.

How it works

    We tell you exactly where to go. Every venue (bar or restaurant) is chosen by people who know this city, and there are no bad tables.

Values make the match. Interests start the conversation.

When you join a pod, we show what you have in common so there is something easy to talk about. You can change these any time. They do not affect who you are matched with.

The science

People don't grow alike. They start alike.

Built on Dr. Angela Bahns' dyadic similarity research, not a personality quiz. Most matching claims rest on proprietary algorithms nobody outside the company can examine. Ours rests on published, peer-reviewed research into how people choose each other, and why the right match shows from the very first meeting. You can read the work yourself.

Within-pair similarity was statistically significant on 86% of the variables measured (personality traits, attitudes, values, recreational activities).

Who is Abound for?

Abound matches you with people who can become friends, or even more if you so decide. We match, you decide. Values are the key.

What age is Abound best for?

Abound is age agnostic. You decide the ages of the people you want to meet in the preferences section, and you will only ever be matched with people in that age group. We always allow you to choose who you associate with.

How does Abound match people?

On who you are, not what you like. You take a values assessment once, and a compatibility model built on Dr. Angela Bahns' peer-reviewed research on similarity puts you with people whose values genuinely align with yours. Your interests never change who you are matched with.

What is a Pod?

A Pod is your introduction: a table of four to six people matched on values. You meet at an Abound venue, and dinner is prepaid in the app, so no bill ever arrives at the table.

How much does Abound cost?

There are two ways in. Free gives you one Pod a month, plus one Pick. Abound Member is a monthly or annual subscription with unlimited Pod matching, unlimited concierge picks and full access to Abound Intelligence AI. Food and drink are not included.
